At 7:30 a.m., the gates of Ciudad Vieja Stadiums opened. Students and teachers from Nuestro Futuro Primary and Secundary (NFP, NFS) arrived, ready to start a special day outside the classroom. Sports Day had officially begun—and the excitement was contagious.
The morning kicked off with a Zumba session. Music filled the air as everyone followed the instructor’s energetic moves. Students giggled, teachers danced along, and the whole field moved together in rhythm. It was the perfect warm-up to a day focused on fun, fitness, and unity.
After Zumba, the real action began. The youngest students laced up their shoes for soccer games on the field. Their laughter echoed as they chased the ball, working together and celebrating each goal.

Older students took to the basketball courts, showing off their skills in friendly matches. From first grade to high school, everyone played. Everyone had fun.
Teachers joined in too—cheering from the sidelines, refereeing games, and jumping into action when needed. The stadium became a space for connection, where roles blended and community grew stronger.
At Niños de Guatemala, we believe that holistic education includes joy, movement, and connection. Sports Day wasn’t just about the games—it was about building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and strengthening our school family.
By noon, the sun was high and hearts were full. Students returned to school tired but smiling, with new memories and stronger bonds. Sports Day was a celebration of our values—and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
