We are excited to introduce Maria Fernanda Franco, our new Development Director at Niños de Guatemala. Maria Fernanda brings with her a wealth of experience and a deep passion for transforming the lives of children in Guatemala.
The journey that led María Fernanda Franco to Niños de Guatemala has been one of challenges, effort, dreams, and commitment. “I feel fortunate and grateful for the opportunities life has given me, both personally and professionally,” she shares. For her, discovering NDG has been a moment of reaffirmation—both personally and professionally. “It feels like returning to the student I once was, full of dreams and hope to transform and believe in the possibilities of our country.”
From her first visit to our schools, María Fernanda felt the impact of NDG’s work firsthand. “It was a profoundly revealing experience. I confirmed my commitment to this work and my sense of belonging to the network of partners, donors, and collaborators who make our schools thrive.”
Her goal is to strengthen relationships with donors and ensure that every contribution translates into tangible opportunities for children. “Every action, every task is aimed at turning education into the most powerful tool to overcome barriers, break through adversity, and create new opportunities.”
With her leadership, we hope to make our schools even more inclusive and well-equipped while fostering stronger community engagement. “We trust that, day by day, each school will become a better, more integrated place filled with hope.
Her hopes for the future of NDG are high. She envisions NDG becoming a reference point for donors and allies, where each event, each grant, and each initiative is something to be proud of. She dreams of building a better future for our children, one that’s grounded in community, trust, and solidarity.
Maria Fernanda believes that our donors and supporters can make all this possible. She invites everyone to walk alongside us, to visit, to share our vision, and to be part of the transformation that happens with every child’s success.
