Reflecting on Success: Achievements and Challenges of the 2024 School Year
As the school year comes to a close, we reached out to our Education Director, María Sandoval, to share her reflections on the achievements and challenges of 2024. Here’s what she had to say:
“This year has been an inspiring journey of growth and learning for everyone at Niños de Guatemala. I am incredibly proud of our students, teachers, and the entire community for their commitment to excellence.”
📚Academic Progress: Our students have shown remarkable improvement in reading and reading comprehension, thanks to the dedication of our teachers, the collaboration of parents, and the commitment of the students themselves. While progress continues, we remain focused on enhancing logical reasoning, English, and text production as key priorities.

😌Emotional and Social Well-being: We successfully implemented programs that foster emotional regulation and positive interactions, creating a safe and supportive environment for our students.
👩🏻🏫Staff Development: Our teaching and administrative teams have actively participated in professional training sessions, enriching their educational practices and contributing to the overall quality of instruction
👨🏻🎓Reducing Dropout Rates: We are proud to have significantly reduced the school dropout rate through consistent follow-up and individualized student support.
Looking ahead, we are confident that with the continued support of our community, the upcoming school year will be even more successful. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Board of Directors, sponsors, teachers, administrative staff, volunteers, and families for their unwavering support every step of the way.
