October 1st in Guatemala is all about celebrating the joy and spirit of childhood, and at Niños de Guatemala, we made sure that this year’s Children’s Day was unforgettable for our students. At our primary schools, Nuestro Futuro and El Porvenir, pre-k to sixth-grade students enjoyed unique, fun-filled celebrations.
At Nuestro Futuro Primary School, the theme of the day was inspired by the beloved show “El Chavo del 8.” Everyone got into the spirit—students and teachers alike arrived in full costume, embodying their favorite characters from the show. Clowns led the activities, bringing energy and laughter to the day. They also gave out gifts to the students with the best costumes and to the winners of the games. The clowns organized dancing competitions and number games that had everyone cheering and participating with excitement
The students were treated to pizza and cupcakes, adding to the fun atmosphere. The entire school was buzzing with excitement between the costumes, games, and prizes. The kids couldn’t stop smiling as every moment brought new laughter and joy. It was a day where the magic of childhood took center stage, creating memories they’ll treasure for years to come.
Over at El Porvenir Primary School, the focus was on fun through dance and creativity. Each teacher dressed up as a clown, bringing even more delight to the students. The celebration was packed with activities—each grade had its special theme and participated in everything from face painting and dance competitions to karaoke and musical chairs. The excitement filled the air as students played, danced, and sang their hearts out.
The dance floor was alive with movement as students showed off their best dance moves in competitions, hoping to win prizes. Laughter echoed throughout the school as students enjoyed the games and each other’s company. And of course, there was cake to sweeten the celebration, because no party is complete without a special treat!
Children’s Day at Niños de Guatemala is more than just a celebration. It’s a reminder of how important joy, play, and community are in the lives of our students. Days like these give them the chance to unwind, have fun, and celebrate being kids—all while building friendships and sharing unforgettable moments.
